Listen to the Interview
Hello, and welcome to The Remote Podcast Episode 18. This podcast is all about location independence, digital nomadism, and living life on your terms.
Each week we interview a new guest on the show, and this week I sat down with Stephen Warley, the founder of Life Skills That Matter, a website and podcast that helps you create work with purpose. This interview was awesome. Let me tell you that straight up.
Stephen is a self-dubbed reluctant entrepreneur and has been working for himself for over 16 years. He’s also a seasoned podcaster, and previously ran Unstuckable, a top 100 podcast on iTunes. In this interview, we talk about the importance of self-awareness and how it’s the foundation to everything else.
What’s different about Stephen is that he shares actionable takeaways and exercises that make this more than a high-level pep talk. As a seasoned podcaster running aa top 100 podcast already under his belt, Stephen is wise with his words.
Some of the things we talk about include:
- How defining your purpose is the most important thing you can do
- How you must learn about yourself before you do anything else
- The difference between self-awareness and self-perception
I’m super excited because he also has an exclusive email course just for The Remote Podcast listeners. If you’re ready to take the leap and work for yourself, then I recommend taking the Life Skills That Matter Self-Assessment Challenge. As Stephen says, “the first and most important step of self-employment is self-assessment.”
